Seal of Biliteracy Exam (Avant Test) Feb 4 & Feb 11

Attention Carson Seniors,



Carson High School will
be administering the AVANT Test on...

  • February 4, 5, 6, & 9 - Group #1: Spanish, Mandarin, and Korean.
  • February 11-13 - Group #2: Tagalog, Samoan, Ilocano.

Remember to bring:

  • A charged LAUSD issued Chromebook.
  • CHS Student ID Card (w/ Photo)

What is the California Seal of Biliteracy?

The CA Seal of Biliteracy is a recognition awarded to graduating 12th grade students who have attained a high level of proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing in one or more languages in addition to English. The CA Seal of Biliteracy is marked with a gold seal affixed on diploma. To earn the CA Seal of Biliteracy, a student must show proficient in English and a language other than English. 

Passing the AVANT Test is one way student can demonstrate proficiency in a language other than English to earn the California Seal of Biliteracy.
