Why I Became a Teacher:
My appreciation for teaching began in the 1st grade when my teacher gave me the gift of reading. Literature opened the world to me. During high school, I became a tutor for my classmates in math and science. In the summers, I assisted at a literacy intervention program for early elementary students. My love of science began in chemistry class, where I started to see the world in a completely new way. I hope to give students the experience where they can make connections to their world through understanding science and develop the tools to be successful on whichever path they choose.
